2 in 5 US Shoppers use AR while they Shop

In 2022, nearly 2 in 5 US shoppers use augmented reality (AR) while they shop and the total users are about 35.0 million which is relatively high when compared to the prior year 18.8%. This percentage would further ramp up by 2024 as shoppers make use of virtual try-on and product visualization features. As per eMarketers predictions, one-quarter of the US population will experience AR at least once per month in 2022.

As per a new report by Standard Media Index (SMI), the growth of podcasts have been gradually increasing due to ad spent on it. The spending on podcast has raised to 68% YOY in 2021 and now accounts for 8% of all digital audio spending. eMarketers forecast that 8% of U.S. podcast ad spend would be programmatic by 2022, just 2.2% was sold programmatically in 2020.

Streaming services have created new opportunities for advertisers and also help to drive an increment in ad spending. In 2022, as per eMarketers CTV ad spending is forecasted to increase nearly 32% which is more than $19 billion. 58% of CMOs are comfortable with executing a TV buying strategy in an increasingly complex video environment. 42% of agencies take primary responsibility, whereas 44% of CMOs would seek new agency partners to increase ad reach. 52% will increase budgets on CTV and 34% will do the same for addressable TV in 2022.

Express in its app, by adding more modern shopping features and functionalities has seen a 20% traffic bump with digital experiences and order value raised to 27%. The company year end report revealed that, a lift of 45 basis points, as a result helped to raise total net sales to 55% from a year earlier to $1.87 billion.

This year, Meta and Twitter are planning to implement 3D advertising on their platforms. This 3D modeling allows the brands to run three-dimensional augmented reality ads for their products. This feature allows the customer to swipe and rotate it to get a better look. 3D and mobile AR advertising revenues have been increasing, in the next coming years, AR would see 134% growth.
