CTV Ad Spending has Raised to 32.3% this Year

This year Walmart is planning to have a connected advertising platform along with new ad formats for connected TV and video, along with "omni experiences". Every week, Walmart has more than 150 million customers who shop via digital and physical stores. In 2021, the company saw its advertiser base increase to 136% YOY. In the last quarter itself, Walmart has broken out sales from Connect group generating $2.1 billion in revenue for the complete year.

Rita Ferro, Disney’s president of ad sales announced that Disney has sold out 50 commercial slots for ABC’s broadcast for this year. As per Harris Poll's study, in 2022, 82% of the US people prefer to watch ads before an Oscar show rather than during the show, 81% prefer to do multitask during commercial breaks. In 2022, CTV ad spending has raised to 32.3% and linear TV ad spending would be more than 3.5 times that of CTV ad spending. By 2025, it will drop to 1.9 times that of CTV ad spending.

Spotify has been introducing a Covid content advisory tab on podcasts. This tab contains all the information or discussion about COVID-19. As of now, the new tab Covid content advisory contains 1.4 million podcast episodes on the Spotify platform. In a deal worth $200 million the streaming rights were acquired to “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast.

This summer, Sony is all set to launch a new video game subscription service in three tiers Essential, Extra and Premium. The basic package, PS Plus Essential offers two free games each month and costs $10 per month or $60 for a yearly subscription. PS Plus Extra costs $15 monthly and $100 per year. PS Plus Premium costs $18 a month or $120 per year. Microsoft has spent more on Game Pass to gain massive video game publishers like Activision Blizzard and Bethesda for a combined $76 billion to bring their popular titles onto the service.

Apple Company announced that they would cut down 20% of the production of the iPhone SE, which is a newly launched March 18, 5G phone priced at $429 and for the complete year of 2022, Apple wants to decrease the orders for AirPods by about 10 million.
