Podcast Advertising has Been Ramping Up

As per MediaRadar data, Podcast advertising has been ramping up in the advertising industry and there is a 20% increase in advertising revenue YOY in 2021. 14% rise in purchasing podcast ads and retention rate of companies doing so 42%. 73% of brand recall for podcast ads, on the other hand, podcast listening has doubled from the last three years among Hispanic listeners of the age group 25-39.

A survey has been conducted among 12,000 global consumers and 2,000 senior executives across 15 countries between January and February 2022. It revealed that 75% say that since the pandemic, it is harder to build and maintain trust with the customers. 79% of consumers are concerned about how their data has been used, 34% are very much concerned, 81% say that it is important to know how their data has been used by the companies. 44% of consumers are willing to spend $1,000 per year when they trust the brand and trust is broken 55% of consumers say they will never give the brand a second chance whereas 60% of Gen Z forgiving for once.

Twitter has announced that it is testing the Twitter Shops feature which let the merchants showcase up to 50 products on their profiles. It is only available for US merchants and the Twitter tool is free to use. In 2021, as per Digital Trust in Social Commerce report 7% of US social media users had made a purchase through Twitter. In 2022, the average time spent per day by US adults on social platforms such as TikTok is 38 minutes then followed by Twitter 35 minutes then by Facebook 31 minutes.

The majority of people use ad blockers in order to customize their internet behaviors. A 2021 survey from BlockThrough found that 50% of US adults above 18 use ad blockers on computers when Gen Z is using it more prominently. In the US, 51% of male internet users and 30% of female internet users use ad blockers. The most popular ad blocker on Google Chrome claims to it has over 60 million users.

80% of the companies are planning to implement conversational customer engagement in order to improve customer experience. 79% have started to execute conversational customer engagement and 52% will leverage CPaaS platforms to do so. 22% of companies use more than three channels for conversational engagement, while most companies employ multiple channels and a majority are leveraging conversations.
