U.S. Ad Spending Hit $436.3 Billion in 2021

The Commerce Department stated that retail sales have dropped 1.9% in December. This percentage is considerably worst when compared with the Dow Jones predictions of just 0.1% decline. Even the auto sale dropped to 2.3% but the consumer price index pulled up by 0.5% for the month, this is the highest percentage since June 1982. For this month, miscellaneous store retailers, building materials and gardening centers have seen gains.

Winterberry Group reported that U.S. ad spending hit $436.3 billion in the last year and in 2022, the growth is estimated to rise 11.8% to $487.8 billion. Data-related spending rose to 26% YoY to $29.3 billion in 2021 and Winterberry Group forecast this category further rises to 13% in 2022. Media spend increased from 11.6% in 2021 to 12.3% in 2022 and retail marketing has doubled from $20 billion to $40 billion in 2021.

Last week Amazon has announced to launch a technology-focused store with 30,000 square feet that consist of clothing, shoes, and accessories at the Los Angeles shopping center. Currently, Amazon operates 600 physical stores in North America. These stores generated $4.27 billion in Q3 2021, from $49.94 billion. As per eMarketers predictions, In the US apparel and accessories sales would hit 62.1% through offline in 2022.

A new report from ad-tech investment group Luma Partners states that Ad-tech deals have raised to 80% in 2021, compared to the last year. In the media and marketing technology sectors, this deal further raises to 82% YOY. In 2022, Luma Partners predicts mergers and acquisitions continue to increase as buyers need tools and businesses.

In the US, 75% of marketers use influencers for campaigns and in 2022 this percentage further increase to 5% from the prior year.
