US Digital Retail Media Ad Spending will Reach $40.81 Billion in 2022

Retail media is following in the footsteps of search and social as digital advertising is the third big wave as it has already been established. eMarketers predicts that US retail media ad spend will ramp up 31.4% to $40.81 billion in 2022, which is triple the time higher compared to 2019 from its total of $13.23 billion.

As per Yahoo, the tech giant’s market value has declined to 57% in 2022, when compared with Apple’s 14% dip, Amazon’s 26%, and Alphabet’s 29% and due to this Meta, has lost at least half of his fortune $71 billion. The upcoming Connect event on October 11 will provide Meta a chance to turn things around. The average time spent by US adult users on social media platforms like TikTok was 45.8, Youtube was 45.6, Twitter was 34.8 and followed by Snapchat, Facebook, and Instagram.

According to a report by Lytics, 96% of marketers and 89% of IT leaders stated that IT teams are more responsible for marketing ROI. 81% of marketers trust that IT teams will be greatly involved in marketing efforts over the next five years. In this survey, 250 senior marketers and IT leaders were surveyed. 75% of marketers say that IT teams are responsible for providing them access to data for their operations and 70% of marketers say they rely on IT teams for data modeling.

Amazon has recently announced that it is raising its hourly wages for its warehouse and delivery workers to $19 an hour, up from $18 an hour in the U.S as they are going to enter the holiday shopping season. On average warehouse and delivery workers will earn between $16 to $26 per hour depending on their position, but Amazon’s minimum wage for employees in the U.S. remains $15 an hour.

As per internal Meta memo Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram are in chase of TikTok’s success in cornering short-form video. Now video content accounts for more than half of the time spent on social media. so, display advertising will make up 57.7% of digital advertising budgets in the US in 2022 and would spend $76 billion in video ad spending this year.
