Threads have Crossed the 100 Million Sign-Up Marker

Meta has newly launched its Threads app which stood as a Twitter alternative and has got 30 million sign-ups within 24 hours of release. Reached 50 million members in just hours and 70 million in less than two days. Now, Threads has crossed the 100 million sign-up marker and stood as the fastest growing app.

A survey conducted by Ipsos revealed that LinkedIn is the top social platform used by B2B marketers and their clients worldwide. In 2023, 76 million US adults have been using LinkedIn which accounts for 22.3% of the population, Then followed by YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.

By 2025, this percentage would rise to 68.3% from 67.2% this year. TV views are declining from 69.2% this year to 66.8% in 2025. In the US, Meta has seen a slight drop in users compared to Twitter.

As per new Bureau of Labor Statistics data cited in Ad Age, there is a significant rise of 2,200 jobs in the US ad agency employment. The US economy added 209,000 jobs in June, marking the 30th straight month of job growth since January 2021.

Microsoft has recently announced another layoff of 10,000 jobs, a week after the start of its 2024 fiscal year. The company specified that it would cut 276 people from Washington state and the rest 66 are virtual.

With the introduction of Meta Threads, user traffic on Twitter has slowed and this new app has already surpassed 100 million sign-ups. The company said that web traffic for Twitter was down 11% compared to the prior year.
