Email is the Top Marketing Channel for New Business

GroupM WPP has announced that it has obtained digital transformation agency Fenom Digital and the deal was not disclosed. The companies are focusing on growing their e-commerce capabilities. According to Euromonitor, online retail is expected to pull up from $3.3 trillion in sales today to $5.4 trillion by 2026.

In the US, Amazon one of the largest employers is scaling back more than it had anticipated. Andy Jassy, Amazon’s CEO, announced that they are laying off more than 18,000 employees, which represents 1% of its workforce.

As per the latest report from outplacement services firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas, technology industry led job cuts last year, totaling more than 97,000 across the sector.  Tech job cuts were up 649% in 2022. Overall last year, employers across industries announced plans to cut nearly 364,000 jobs, which is 13% increase from the year prior.

But the company employed more than 79,000 workers as of December. The company recorded charges of $1.0 billion to $1.4 billion related to the headcount reductions.
