Marketers Prefer Social Media Over CTV and Linear TV

As per the 2023 Social Media Landscape Survey, 80% of marketers prefer to use Meta’s Threads and 66% feel that Threads will decrease the marketing potential of Instagram and Facebook, which Meta also knew. 70% are willing to invest in an X alternative without exceptional benefits.

The survey data from Advertiser Perceptions states that brand marketers preferred social media over CTV and linear TV. In 2023, 44% of decision-makers would like to hike their social spending and 51% of brands and agencies side of the business planning to increase their investments in this category.

The Key findings of Global Ad Spend Outlook 2023/24 reveal that worldwide ad spending will reach 4.4% in 2023, another 8.2% in 2024 and hit $1 trillion spending for the first time. The top competitors ByteDance, Alibaba, Amazon, Alphabet and Meta will attract 50.7% of global spending in 2023 and 51.9% in 2024.

In the U.S., Influencer marketing has the highest demand and US marketers will use influencer marketing on TikTok with a $989.6 million budget. 60% of TikTok viewers are more likely to trust a brand after hearing about it from an influencer compared to hearing about it from a standard.

The Social media landscape is constantly evolving and there is no platform that stands close to Facebook when it comes to social media advertising. In 2023, 90% of marketers prefer Facebook for social media advertising, 10% to Instagram and then followed by TikTok, according to data presented by OnlyAccounts.io.

Amazon recently announced that the company is going to charge $35 for free shipping for non-Prime members and they are required to spend $25 to qualify for free shipping. Prime membership costs $139 per year.
